Michael Benatar is a young filmmaker who aspires to make a documentary that will restructure the way people think about music and community. This project is an experiment on the power of online connectivity. Traveling from Los Angeles, CA to Manchester, TN - the story is as much about the journey as the hopeful destination. This documentary stands out from others of it’s genre because of it’s intimacy. While the intention of the documentary is to capture the essence of Bonnaroo, the film is also about the struggles and obstacles faced by the aspiring documentary filmmaker.
Beyond Michael’s story - this documentary seeks to incorporate the experiences of many Bonnaroo attendees. By creating an online community through social networking forums we have been able to involve people like you who are interested in helping us break the traditional boundaries of documentary filmmaking. We hope this film will paint a picture of the varied experiences at Bonnaroo, so that people who have not yet been to Bonnaroo or a music festival of it’s nature will be able to catch a glimpse of what really goes on BEHIND THE ROO. To connect with us, and become a part of this exciting project please see our Get Involved page for more information!
All the Best,
